I thought about this too, but they could still have an older and a younger actor.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes: Another movie I didn't like much. Too many plot holes. Apes were badly done (CGI was great but they were not apelike at all, not even before the change when they really should be). Why did they jump through closed windows without getting hurt? Also whoever wrote the script confused intelligence with general physical abilities and experience-based skills. At first they are apes, after the virus they're furry supermen. Meh.
I'm also tired of people claiming Serkis deserves an award for this one. For what, playing a computer-generated character? Give me a break.
One beer to rule them all.
One whiskey to find them.
One vodka to bring them all
and in the drunkness bind them!

Agreed! That is the one thing I did not like about the film, with regard to the CGI apes. They did`nt look believable it looked too animated to me, I think it would have been better if they had used people like they did in the original. Or the Tim Burton film, and when they were in the sanctuary they should have used film of real apes would have made it much better. :)

Finally watched A Clockwork Orange. It's a really good adaptation of the book. But as far as I can remember ultra-violence was a bit more ultra in the book.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes was entertaining for me at least. I guess I don't put too much thought into movies when I'm watching them.

I saw the recent Dorian Gray adaptation. I realize what a wimp I've become as I get older, because I was so frightened by the images! I read the book a couple years ago and I don't remember it being so raunchy like it was displayed in the movie.

I've been watching Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children last weekend. Should I be ashamed to say I liked it a lot?
I watched it twice 8-)

I don't think Final Fantasy is something to be ashamed of.

I saw 13 Tzameti. It's a very good black and white thriller about a poor young boy who wants to help his family financially and participates in a sick game played by rich bastards without knowing anything about it.

Watched Excalibur as I haven't seen it for ages. That movie is amazing.
And saw Grand Torino. It's a very good Clint Eastwood movie. In this film Clint is just like the old gardener at my workplace.

Just finished watching the comic book narrative of Watchmen the other night.

But while we're talking films in general, I personally recommend anything by Darren Aronofsky. That man is a fucking genius. Imho

And yet, how could a heathen man wish for anymore
Than the healing balms of English trees?"
