Good point my friend. Being a student of history I am well aware of repeated mistakes. I guess I put too much faith in humanity sometimes. ;) LOL@teuro. Definitely telling my German teacher about that one.

We actually spoke about the 'Nazi' accusations a bit before my German test today. It seems like a complete damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario. If Mutti gives the money, then you are pushovers and people will keep begging. If she declines, Germans become Nazis yet again. It seems as though the world forgot the issues that plagued Germany right along with the rest of Europe from 1945-1990. Hell, you were occupied by two nations and the main front for the entire Cold War.

Anyway, I don't claim to know much about economics. What I truly don't understand is that many of these problems seem like they have common sense solutions but no one is willing to make the sacrifices to achieve those solutions, America is definitely included in that category. Constantly on the news here one listens to all these economics experts/PhD.'s saying these exact words, "Everyone knows what needs to be done. We just need to do it." Pure insanity.

Personally, I would like to see Russia step up to the plate. They are the largest landmass, have the most natural resources when compared to anyone else, and last I read they had an EXCESS of timber. They have so much wood that they can't cut it down fast enough. Putin could help Russia and the world if he opened up more to outside investment, at least that is my theory. Job creation, health care, industry, infrastructure, all of these things in Russia are suffering horribly but no one hears about it. They like to stay quiet for some reason or I guess they just don't want to appear weak. The latter sounds more like Putin.
