Hi everyone,
I was browsing the wikipedia pages of Finntroll the other day and noticed that Jaktens Tid, Ur Jordens Djup, and Nifelvind were all about 42-45 minutes in length, give or take a couple minutes. I was a bit surprised to find out that Nättfodd is only 36 mins, which is shorter than most metal albums. I thought perhaps they simply didn't have enough songs to make an entire album, what with Tapio Wilksa taking over for vocals and all that. Maybe it was a busy time for Finntroll.
But then I looked up the page for the Trollhammaren EP, which features 3 exclusive songs (the other two are just trollhammaren and a forsvinn du som lyser metal version). This is good and all, but then I saw that the Trollhammaren EP was released SIX DAYS before the Nattfödd album. Why didn't they just put the Trollhammaren EP songs onto Nattfödd? This way, there wouldn't be three songs that are just on an EP, and would have made Nattfödd about 45 minutes, about the length of their other albums.
Have any thoughts as to why they did that?
