Since this thread has been demanded/suggested, here it is. Now discuss! :)

Link at least: BREAKING NEWS! ;)

This "summer camp in July where members of various bands [...] will collaborate with each other in creating and recording new songs" sounds so much like the making of Visor Om Slutet, although it's probably not even close.
No raw meat will be harmed during the making of the Spinefarm compilation album.

It'd be cool to hear Finnsorrow (or Moontroll), since Trollhorn is behind both bands. Epic dark carnival music par excellence.

And if I understood correctly, Trollhorn mentioned recording more than one song.

P.S. I think it's great they're making new songs, not just putting out a "best of" compilation of most known songs of bands signed to them.

And now we wait. Again :D

That's an interesting idea, I'm curious as to what the bands will come up with.

To clarify a couple of things- first of all, I´m very likely not participating on the Spinefarm session. My vacation time is so limited that I might not want to spend it drinking in a cabin. :D I might drop by for a day but most likely I will not be a part of this recording session.

Secondly, the Finntroll- recording session (which is on as we speak) has also nothing to do with Spinefarm, as we are signed to Century Media Records, remember? :P Speaking of which, we´ve laid now drums for the three tracks and continue with Tundarr´s bass in a couple of hours.

I was wondering about that - but then thought that maybe you guys are doing this for old times' sake ;) As for the session itself: Aye, Mathias has mentioned you guys having finished with drums on Failbook. Anxious to listen to the results once it's all done - can we expect any studio insight views (like the ones you have provided for the Nifelvind recording sessions)?

So this means Finntroll (minus Trollhorn) is participating in the Spinefarm drinking binge, but most likely won't be recording anything there?

But you are recording something now and that has nothing to do with that? Not even one song? Or just one song and the other two are for something else?

:|

Confusion is the mother of curiosity. Or something like that.

P.S. I second Aldhissla's wish for a "recording-diary". Pretty please?

It will be interesting to see what happens with Finntroll`s involvement with "Spinefarm Allstars" that sounds good!
Also good to hear that the band are doing new material :D
I third Aldhissla`s wish for a "recording-diary" :)

I would speculate that some Finntroll members will take part psuedonomously.(is that a word?)to avoid contractual conflict.Like a musician can be around alcohol and music making and not join in?pffff. :D
it's just another in a lifetime's worth of lessons never learned
