Don't know if it was postet before. Yesterday I got the Metal Hammer Metallica Cover CD and REALLY the most awesome, funny and cool cover of the whole compilation is Finntrolls "The God That Failed". I laughed my ass off.... :D :D :D (and even bf who doesnt like like FT thinks its great!!!

i haveta confess i havent heard yet,i wont buy metal hammer cause its a crap mag,gonna have to youtube it.I always hated that metallica tamed down the lyrics on this one-'healing hand held back by the deepened nail' instead of hammerd nail.Bob Rock's rot has already begun to set in.

heard the cover(whole album too-thanks youtube!) and thought it was ok-i like the 'finntrollizing' of the song an the changes in cadence,but overall i liked moonsorrows metallica cover better.i thought most of the album was meh and made me just want to hear the original,so thankfully finntroll rose above that.Borknager's my friend of misery was the best track though.
and i fucking hate devil driver.and whoever callajon is.for fucks sake way to take a good(not great) song and ruin it.
it's just another in a lifetime's worth of lessons never learned

Oh shit, forgot about this compilation! The singer of Borknagar talked about it at the pub some time ago, that they were approached by Metal Hammer to do a Metallica cover of not their choice.

I agree with Mats, the cover by Moonsorrow is brilliant. Henri straight up singing an entire song in English, it's GLORIOUS!

was that vintersorg drunk in your car last spring?what is he going through a bad divorce with this behavior?
i like the moonsorrow cover for the same reasons that the finntroll cover works-the band takes the song and completely makes it their own.i just like the original song and moonsorrows remake better.
