As Ärväthyyll already wrote, we went there for three days. It was SO hot even Satan would ask for a fan, but still, it was Metal Camp, i just finished with my exames (and heard today that i failed at last one :( ) and i had great company and some pretty good bands on the menu. ;) :)

Yes, i'm idiot enough to miss the Trollboard meeting for an hour or so, and because of that i did miss quite alot, but nevertheless, it was cool to grab a beer before the Finntroll concert with you guys. :) Aldhissla, it was great to finally meet you! :) U, btw, who is Peter on this forum? He was there on our meeting, but i forgot to ask ... anyway, i find it SO awesome that the band came to say hi, even though i missed them, the gesture itself is pretty damn great, thanks guys. :)

And for the concert ... well ... er ... THEY PLAYED ETT NORRSKENSDAD!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaa, I went insane when i heard the first tones and then my favourite part, with Vreth's scream and drums and guitar, ahhh, fucking awesome. :D The setilist was really good, for my taste totally, basically all my favourites from Nifelvind were played, and the usual best. :) I secretly hoped for Vatteanda, but alas no. I'm not complaning though, the setlist really was almost perfect. :)

Funny though, we were standing ... lets say in 3rd row or somewhere there, really near the stage, and this grandma lady was taking pictures the whole time, and bitching around people who were headbanging, because of the hair that were in her way. Excuse me? In the third effing row on METAL FESTIVAL?! Whatever dude. I was standing right next to the guy that had problems with Vreths introduction of Kittledags, i really don't understand christian fanatics that listen to FT or any band that had had or still have anti-christian songs. I mean, don't listen to it or shut the fuck up when they play the songs. Weirdos. The mud was interesting to, hehe. Luckly i only got a few drops of it on my arm, but Ärväthyyll was very trollish-looking after the gig.

Anyway, GREAT SHOW, Finntroll, thank you for the gig and the visit! :) And great festival, i really had so much fun, even with the heat and lack of sleep. :)

The ones i can recall, in no particular order, but i'm sure they started with Drap (after the intro i mean).

Blodmarsch, Drap, Unter Bergets Rot, Solsagan, Den Frusna Munnen (yes! :D ), Ett Norrskensdad (Y-E-S! :D), Nattfodd, Jaktens Tid, Kitteldags, Trollhammaren, Korpens Saga, Segersang

I'm sure they played another one from Midnattens Widunder, since Vreth said it's from the album, but i can't remember which one. It wasn't Midnattens Widunder, that one i'd remember, it's one of my favourites. And i think they didn't play Nedgang, wtf? I can't remember it ...

It sounds like the rest of us who weren't there missed out on a good time! It's really cool to hear all of the stories. :D

Ulmiel, if you think I looked trollish, you should have seen poor Aldhissla. He got mud into his ears! EARS!

I can comment on the rest of the festival as well, the not-Finntroll related stuff:

The bad:
- Heat. Getting up every morning between 6 and 8 because it was impossible to stay in the tent longer.
- Setlists of all the bands I went to see were not exactly my favorites.
- The crew that does the lights. They decided it's a good idea to just push the stroboscope button. No, stroboscope is never a good idea.
- Security guys who feel the urge to comment every time a girl passes them by.
- We were camping close to the Magic Circle tent in the C sector. They had karaoke one afternoon and all of a sudden this chick sings Alice Cooper's Poison in the Tarja Turunen version. And let me tell you, she was no Tarja Turunen (and honestly, I can't stand her either and especially not her version of Poison). Oh the horrors our ears had to endure :o That was physically painful, I kid you not.

The good:
- We were allowed to bring water on the set. Maybe it was the same the previous years but I just didn't know it?
- Our camping ground. Bless our driver who completely ignored the security guy showing us we're not supposed to pass there ;) Close to the set, close to the hot showers, close to the town. Perfect.
- The restaurant next to the camp that offered pancakes for breakfast at a reasonable price <3
- People were very nice again. Haven't heard any vuvuzelas.
- Unlike the night, the beach below the stages wasn't crowded during the day.
- 5 layers of sunscreen and 2 layers of mosquito/tick repellent. Every day. Next to a bunch of other stuff that each have a scent of their own. I don't even want to know how that all smelled but I guess that's for my friends to put under the "bad" section ;) But it did the trick (well, almost)!
- Reconnecting with some friends I haven't seen in a while and meeting some new ones :)
One beer to rule them all.
One whiskey to find them.
One vodka to bring them all
and in the drunkness bind them!

I didn't.

The "Thanks to this I missed the next gig since I had to go wash and change." was about Immortal. I was really horribly dirty and, this is the main problem, that mud really stank. I don't dare to know what it was ...

But I've seen Immortal before and although they put up a great show, I couldn't stay serious. Abbath to me sounds like Eric Cartman when he speaks which gives Sons of Southern Parkness (LINK) a whole new meaning ;) So at MC at least I didn't have a feeling I'm missing much. I could hear him and he was again Cartman.

Sounds like it was awesome overall. May I throw my name in for a possible Trollboard meeting there next year? :)

Immortal was ok :)

Well yeah, finally home from Metalcamp!

This year was the total opposite of last year. Where we had only rain and mud last year; this year it was sooo fucking bloody hot.
Everyday it was between the 35 and 40 degrees or so.
The only nice place was the hotel in the backstage which had airco (unfortunatelly we only found that out the last day) and the river!!
But heath or not.. it was a great week. Eventhough it started bad because our car broke down and we had 2 wait 2 days before it was fixed and we arrived on monday evening instead of sunday afternoon.
Best band for me was Behemoth... one of the worst was Korpiklaani.. stupid drunk bastards :?
Finntroll was very nice too. To quote my best friend: "I don't listen to the cd's that much at home, but everytime I see them on stage they fucking rule and are awesome"

It was nice to meet some of you from the forum and sorry I arrived a bit later and couldn't stay that long, but I was busy hehe :?
The picture will be here soon!
