I'm intrested in a dicussion about the past and nowdays Vocalists of Finntroll:

Katla
Wilska
Vreth

Name your favorite one and also give some examples of why you just like his style.


Also, to Katla still writing lyrics? For the upcoming album.

I really have to think about choosing between Katla and Vreth. Katla has a really epic sound (Gollum-eh) and it gives a lot of black metal feeling to the older songs, but I've always liked harsh sounds, like Vreth does. Makes the songs more heavier. But I just have to choose Katla for now. Prove urself better at "Mot Skuggornas Värld" Vrethy-boy

I really can't pick a favorite, but I'd say that Katla and Wilska had a more "trollish" sound to their voices, which I think went better with their theme. However, I think Vreth's death metal-type vocals work really well with the direction their music is going in nowadays; it's more energetic and, like Maxwell said, overall heavier.

I think it's great that Katla's writing the lyrics again - after all, he formed the band, so it's nice he still plays a part in it

I'll agree with this as well.

Vreth might not come off as "trollish" because he's not as grumbly or guttural as Katla or Wilska, but if you take Ur Jordens Djup by itself without trying to hold it up against the sounds of the previous two albums, Vreth's voice is excellent.

I must say I prefer Vreth's style, especially in the context of Ur Jordens Djup. That style might've sounded out of place on the older albums, and his style may not be as original as Katla's or Wilska's, but as with the overall direction of Finntroll's music, I'm more pleased with what they've done more recently.

I like Katla's(translated)lyrics better than his vox,I am cool with W or Vreth equally.

I like Vreths vocals very much his style of vocals is really powerful ive yet to get some of the bands earlier albums so that I can make comparisons between each singer and how their styles vary from one another
