Your favourite Finntroll album/song?

I'm starting to listen to Ur Jordens Djup a lot more myself.

I assume that Nifelvind is most popular because that tends to happen when you just hear an album. Wait a year or so and you get a better picture. I like Ur Jordens Djup much more than I did when it first came out.

Yeah, well, it's been over 6 months already since the release and I still think think it's their best one.

But yeah, point taken, though I guess it might be too early to say anything final. But at the moment and on my part Nifelvind really is the best album by Finntroll

Let's see that again in a year or so

Edit: And yeah, it took over 3 years until Ur Jordens Djup totally opened to me.

@Terpo I guess its all subjective as to what we like and in an album, however that is what appeals to me about Ur Jordens Djup is the dark elements to the music. There are nice melodies in these songs, but they have the dark edge to them that give them a different kind beauty Which goes to show you can have darkness in music with plenty of melody which shows that these songs are excellently written!

Whereas Nattfodd has some great tunes and is happier sounding throughout!

But I agree Nifelvind is indeed a masterpiece, with great variation in the songs

it used to be Jaktens Tid but after listening to Ur Jordens Djup enough, UJD has taken over for the top spot.

I noticed that whenever I go to Finntroll shows(like last night), people go absolutely nuts when the song Trollhammaren comes on, and with some people that seems to be the only song they really know. I never understood why. I mean it's a good song, but I definitely don't think it's their best. Most people on this thread didn't list that as their favorite song either, even off of the EP.

Probably because people on this board know all albums/songs and KNOW theres much better songs. Those people who know no other than Trollhammaren still think FT is just a funny band to jump around drunk and never listened to anything further. (e.g. go on last.fm and read some of the comments on FT songs, makes me scream every once in a while )

it's funny because here in NY, when they played in April, people went nuts to Trollhammaren, yet they went crazier to Under Bergets Rot. Which made me happy because I thought for a moment that Trollhammaren would be dethroned.

The internet tells me I'm wrong, though...

Hehe, agreed, thats what I first thought when I heard Under Bergets Rot: the perfect song to go nuts and a perfect song to dethrone Trollhammaren. Lets see how people will react in Germany in December

Under Bergets Rot is definitely a better song than Trollhammaren. But yeah, last.fm says that the top song is Trollhammaren with 20,576 plays, and the second is Solsagan at 11,467. That's such a huge gap!

Why do I get compeltely different statistics?
Is that for 2010?

I'd say it's great how well Solsagan is doing ... It has potential to overthrow Trollhammaren eventually.
