Genres of metal

We're all Finntroll fans obviously, but I wondered, what kinds of metal do you guys prefer the most? What do you like to listen to when you're not listening to Finntroll?

I think my favorite would be the so-called "blackened death metal". Or just death metal in general.

Black and Thrash metal, mostly. Before that it was Viking/Pagan/folk, and before that it was Traditional, but I grew out of it.

When i'm not listening to Finntroll or another folk/black hybrid metal band, I mostly listen to melodic death metal. Bands like Omnium gatherum and Kalmah : )

As of late, there seems to be quite a bit of technical death metal floating about my playlists, so I voted in the death metal side. While I've got a fair amount of melodic death metal, the stuff that isn't also folk metal is quite rare. Generally don't dig the melodic stuff as much, and I'm not sure why that is; just doesn't have the same appeal. Second choice would be black metal.

I voted for black & other. Lately I have a thing for ambiental stuff, usually black metal related.
One beer to rule them all.
One whiskey to find them.
One vodka to bring them all
and in the drunkness bind them!

I voted folk. I also like trash and death and black but I've never listened to traditional metal. The first metal band I liked was Slayer when I was 13.
