My bf's tattoo took 4 years or so until it was finished for the same reason. Why don't you pay him a visit? We had to do it if my bf wanted to see his tattoo finished :P

I agree with you. I'm rehearsing this visit since 2009. Although Angra dos Reis (where he lives) is a bit far from Rio, the main reason is that now both of us have family, job,... and it ends on delaying our meeting. And we also need to coincide our schedules, you know, he does not charge me. :D
But we'll meet, for sure, and finish this 'troll song tattoo', and of course, chat, laugh, drink and smoke, which is more significant and makes life worth living.

^ Those troll tattoos you have are very impressive, and you're very lucky to have such a talented artist ink you for free. 8-)

Yes, I guess so. We met when he was begining on the art, so I was some kind of 'guinea pig' (???!!!???)....
I promissed him when the trolls get finished I'll pay him for a back cover up, maybe with trees, mushrroms, climbers and stuff... some kind of wild and gloomy scene. With his talented hands I'm sure it's gonna get fucking awesome.
And lass, besides it's on another topic, got tell I loved your snowy mountains pics... love Canada!

Yeah my bf was that too! He got his tattoo for free because his friend is considered here in Spain a very talented tattoo artist and he used to try new techniques with bf. The problem is that he is constantly moving out, so as you said it's difficult to meet up with him, but I do want to get my tattoo as well!

I guess it's usual to test your skills on friends when you're beginning on tattoo, and of course these friends love this opportunity to get free inked. 8-)
I got my rib celtic cross in this fashion, with another artist that worked on the same studio at the time and he was taking his first steps too.
He's now a good artist, but the Ccross is not what may be called a masterpiece. And it's so painfull to have your rib tattooed that, well... err... I've never asked him to retouched it.  The Formulae 'free + beginning = risk' is true.
I got other body arts for free, like a nipple pierce (painfull to the extreme) and two scarifications. It's nice to have body artists friends. :P :D

Aye, very nice one! Are you always gonna shave half your chest from now on? ;)
Still to this day
I can hear the whistle blow
I can smell the sage burn
I may be as old and stubborn as a pine
But I am just as wild as the young.

Wow, that looks really good. It looks like the black was done properly, so hopefully all of the color stays. :)
