They won't pay you a coin if you kill them... So I should suggest choosing Air France to my family?
$80,000 per downloads?! I wonder what did she download.

McDonald's Hungary arranged a nice competition for young chefs. Their task was to make Hungarian dishes using the ingredients of McDonald's foods only. I read a report about the event, they wrote it had been pretty funny.

Something else: I've learned that there is a town called Budapest in the U. S. state of Georgia. And a nearby village is called Tokaj.

I should never go to Hungary (been there once when I was four years old); I'd probably stuff myself with food until I explode (and I am not talking McDreck, of course).

As for american city/town names:

Oxford, Maine
Manchester, Vermont
La Paz, Arizona
Frankfurt, Kentucky
Bethlehem, Pennsylvaina
Florence, South Carolina. Alabama. Arizona. New York. Minnesota
St. Petersburg, Florida
Moscow, Idaho
Rome, New York
Geneva, New York. Minnesota
Athens, New York
Troy, New York
Lisbon, Maine
Venice, California. Florida
Paris, New York
Cairo, New York
Denmark, New York
Copenhagen, New York
Cambridge, Minnesota
Genoa, Minnesota
Havana, Minnesota
Luxemburg, Minnesota
Oslo, Minnesota
Scotland, Missouri

and my personal favorite (of course): Hanover, Virginia

just to name a few...
Still to this day
I can hear the whistle blow
I can smell the sage burn
I may be as old and stubborn as a pine
But I am just as wild as the young.

It happens to me pretty often. You can get used to it.

Regarding to Aldhissla and FdPvirtuAL posts, "dumb Americans" in those famous videos might not even be that dumb :)

Q: Where can we find Paris?
A: In New York.
Q: Ahahahahaha.

(But A's right.)
One beer to rule them all.
One whiskey to find them.
One vodka to bring them all
and in the drunkness bind them!

There's a Versailles, Kentucky, and their pronunciation of it is atrocious: Ver-sales.

I grew up in one of the towns on Aldhissla's list. It also has it's own pronunciation. Even some people who grew up within 500 miles of it say it wrong. I guess for those of us who lived there, we always just felt like it was completely unrelated to the other place, why should it be pronounced the same? Especially as The Other Town already isn't pronounced (or spelled) at home the way it is in English.

Don't forget the state and city of New York itself-named after the city of York.
The town i live in has a name, like several other towns around here, taken from the native americans, and people not from here never know how to pronounce it.
it's just another in a lifetime's worth of lessons never learned

I grew up near Vienna, Ohio. They called it 'V-eye-enna.' It was not too far from North Lima, pronounced 'North L-eye-ma.'
