Currently reading Steven Runciman's 'The Fall of Constantinople 1453'.
Amusing! And although I'm not a christian defensor, it's sad to know that the christian Empire fell after a long and heroic resistance by a door left unlocked. I hope to finish it this week.

Now reading "War and Peace" by Leo Tolstoi. No way around that one, I guess.
Still to this day
I can hear the whistle blow
I can smell the sage burn
I may be as old and stubborn as a pine
But I am just as wild as the young.

Finally Finished "Asser`s Life of Alfred" the historical stuff was interesting, however I found all the religious philosophy rather heavy going. Left out notes on the text as I just wanted to read all the sources.

Have just read a paper by Camilla Asplund Ingemark, Legends of Trolls and The Bible. It is very good looking at the comparisons between folktales and the bible. It is a PDF file :) http://www.elore.fi/arkisto/2_05/asp2_05.pdf

Now I am going to re read Moominland Midwinter by Tove Jansson :D

I read a couple good ones within the last week. Today I finished "Birdbrain" by Johanna Sinisalo, which is good if you like environmental-themes.

Then as usual, I read a gay historical romance novel, "While England Sleeps" by David Leavitt. It took place around the time that the Nazis were coming to power, but as the title gives away, it was set in England.

The book that I would like to read by Johanna Sinisalo is "Not Before Sundown" about a photographer who finds an injured troll it looks pretty good, have you come across this one? :)

I really want to read "Not Before Sundown" too, but it wasn't available at the library when I went...but apparently it is now according to the library's site! I'll have to go tomorrow to get it.

I am reading A Dance With Dragons, 5th book from George Martin's A Song Of Ice And Fire. I got it yesterday.
But I'll have to stop reading over the weekend ... And be nervous about what happens next.
One beer to rule them all.
One whiskey to find them.
One vodka to bring them all
and in the drunkness bind them!

Jag klagar över värmen, gnäller högt i regn och rusk ^_^

Thank you I will check it out! :)

Has anyone heard of the author, Sigrid Undset ? Have read about her in a holiday brochure, a trilogy about Kristin Lavransdatter. Set in the middle ages, here is a link :)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sigurd_Undset
