That really looks less gross than usual. It can end up looking quite alot like loose diarrhea shit. There is a legend that after WW2, some american diplomats were visiting Finland around easter(mämmi is easter food) and reported back home "We need to give these people humanitarian aid, they're so desperate that they're eating their own shit!".

Mämmi's smell is very rye'ish. Imagine rye bread, it's not far off.

And just for the record, you don't have to put milk/cream in mämmi like in that picture, some people like eating it raw. Other possibilities are raw + sugar, milk+sugar, cream+sugar etc. I hate the stuff tho. :P

Look at this:

It's Paprikás krumpli (one of my favourites). It's made from lard, onions, sausages, smoked bacon, potatoes and paprika. It's the best when it's greasy as hell.

That one actually looks pretty tasty, Troll. Kind of looks like the Indian food that I make.

The smell of mämmi is kind of sweet, but I guess that's most if you add the sugar and cream. I wouldn't want to eat it without it though.

We should move this stuff to a fantastic/disgusting food thread in General. I was starting to enjoy it.

Your wish is my command, so done :P
One beer to rule them all.
One whiskey to find them.
One vodka to bring them all
and in the drunkness bind them!

shrimp with lobster sauce-most chinese places in NYC make it,idk about elsewhere. It's medium prawns in a mix of egg and lobster green stuff that most people don't eat-it's very slimy, and is best over rice.has the consitency of swallowing a lump of cold sick, but has a pleasant salty taste of the ocean.

Who here has eaten geoduck (pronounced gooey-duck)?
For those who don't know, it's a massive, tasty clam we have in these parts, and it looks like this:

Its name means "Dig Deep" in Nisqually. Dig deep, indeed!

More like geodick; Those clams look like penises.

The worst thing I've ever tasted is natto, which is a Japanese dish of fermented soybeans. I had it several years ago, and couldn't finish it all. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good either, so I didn't want to eat anymore of it. Well, I tried it again when I was in Japan last month, and decided to attempt to eat the whole thing this time. I didn't get very far. The first and second bites were okay, and then by the third, it hit me. It was horrendous and I wanted to get the taste out of my mouth as fast as possible. I guess I'm the typical natto-hating gaijin. Here's a picture of it:

If you buy it at the store, it always comes in this styrofoam container with a small thing of soy sauce and mustard. It doesn't do much to hide the awful flavor.
