1,5 months after elections, our brave politicians failed to make a government. The guy who won was supposed to be the premier, but in the voting yesterday, two of the people who were supposed to vote for him (from the 3 parties that were supposed to be in the government) turned against him. There was a lot of supposing ;) Nobody knows which two as the voting is "secret".

And ... We're back at the beginning.

Or not even that, because the president is supposed (!) to give the possibility to form government to the 2nd chosen, but is reluctant because that guy is being sued for corruption in the case of Finnish Patria. And also because they have some personal differences.

Dunno what happens if this fails. New elections?

By this time I hardly care anymore who wins and who's the premier. I'd like none of them to be there, ffs they can't even decide where to make appointments (another affair from weeks ago), let alone decide something important about our future. I think just about everyone in Slovenia, except for the most hardcore supporters of any party, gave up. The radio host yesterday was priceless. I've never heard the word shit (or more precisely those shitters in the parliament) said on the main radio station in prime time before :D

Not an american, but technically SOPA would give the US authorities the rights to basically censor the internet at free will, giving authorities authority to force content providers to remove websites that "publish copyrighted material". In theory it's finel and all but I'm sure everyone here can see the zillion different ways that can be abused for gods know what forms of censorship for dissenting opinions, messages and whatnot.

SOPA probably won't pass since it's gotten so much attention, but they will keep pushing for similar laws constantly due to the fact that there is a medium out there that the governments cannot control, and they can't take it. Simple as that. Basically the freedom of the internet is at stake here, and people are taking action. Basically EVERYONE outside lobby groups like MPAA / RIAA have decried this law, including all the major internet players (Wiki,Facebook,Google,Youtube and countless others), even the white house is considering to veto the law if it passes. Other actions have included content provides transfering their services en masse to european hosting / away from content providers who support SOPA( GoDaddy.com originally supported SOPA - they lost over 150,000 clients within days).

The story continues: Megaupload was shut down, its founders were arrested. Anonymous is attacking FBI and so on...

Something else: There's going to be a sympathetic demonstration for our government this weekend. Who the hell protests for our government? Are they insane? Certainly there's going to be several counter-demonstrations. The police is afraid of riots.

WTF: The public transport company of Budapest has serious financial problems. If it doesn't get aid, our public transport will stop.

Now I see. Retired people from the countryside. The government rented buses to transport them here to Budapest and back. Rumour has it that they were told to come and they were even paid for coming. 3000 HUF (10 EUR). A Japanese tourist who was watching them asked: "Are these people demonstrating for their pension?". They carried signs like "We will not be a colony", "Viktor, we love you!!!", "Homosexuality is a disease", etc.
And there were many Hungarians from Slovakia and Transylvania. They were also transported by rented buses. Maybe they shouldn't get involved in such things as they don't live and work here and they don't know too much about what's going on. They shouldn't support a government which is bad for us. We have a phrase for what were they doing here, it's something like "beating the nettle with somebody else's dick".
It must be admitted that the oppositionist demonstrations were also pretty lame.
And there was a far-right demonstration where they declared among other things that Hungary's form of state should be kingdom. OK, but who will be the king? It would be nice if Rivfader took the opportunity.

Our 66 years old national airline company called Malév became bankrupt yesterday. I hope BKV (Budapest Transport Company) will survive.

Noooooo! I've travelled with Malév, it was a really good airline company in my book :(

Our national airline company Adria Airways is going down, slowly slowly, too. But I've never used them, so --.

The first Hungarian satellite called Masat-1 was launched yesterday. Actually it isn't good for much, but it's ours and we've become space nation.

The newly established Magyar Családtudományi Társaság (Hungarian Family Science Association) is planning to use EU resources to struggle against sex before marriage. They say that you should have only one sex partner in your life: the one you marry. The most saddening thing is that the Hungarian Academy of Sciences supports them.
