That "next Thursday" was yesterday. So I went to see Negura, they bungled with the line-up again or something, so the singer was new, also one guitarist, and the rest of them (except Negru, of course) isn't in the band regularly more than a few years either. They're getting younger and younger everytime I see them :D Apparently their yesterday gig was the first one in this line-up, complete.
As for the gig, it started somehow badly. I guess they haven't rehearsed it enough yet or something, but it leaves a bitter taste when freakin' Negura Bunget screws up my favourite Ţesarul de lumini. However, they got better through time, and a couple of songs later I was loving it again. There are things that obviously went wrong, including that the singer at some points had to check the lyrics (altho he was good at masking it), but it kind of turned out well at the end. The whole gig ended up being 2 hours long with two encores. First one might have been planned, but the second wasn't, and the singer looked so genuinely happy about it that you couldn't help but loving the whole atmosphere.
I don't think I've ever been to a gig that started so badly but ended so good. Anyway, when it comes to Negura Bunget, I wouldn't mind seeing them again ;)

i always find it strange when a band is completely remade around the drummer, who usually isnt the creative force.if new people write the songs and sing them then it's really a new band.As for lyric sheets-when john lydon sang with PIL he always had a folder of lyrics he put on a music stand in front of him, which was unique in rock/pop,and an effective way to say 'fuck it i use lyric sheets'
Ozzy has huge teleprompters,i'm sure other people do it too.

Been into them since I was a little kid, and on Feb. 18th, I am finally going to see EAV (Erste Allgemeine Verunsicherung, a funny band from Austria) live. Fucking expensive ticket and seats only, but well . another big one off my list.

Propably going to see Farsot and others on Feb 25th.

And I got a ticket for The Prodigy's Warrior's Dance Festival in September.

So, some nice one's coming up. What shits me is that Malignant Tumor are coming to Leipzig and I am going to miss them AGAIN!

EAV was great. They have calmed down a bit, old as they are, but they're still pulling off a good show and are great entertainers.

Even tho it'll just be me and some guy I know from me metal pub, I decided "Well, fuck it" - and we're going to see Farsot, Trimonium, Ad-Hoc and Fantoft on Saturday. Have some drinks first and then get blasted away by hours of black metal. Why the hell not?

I went to see Holst' Planets yesterday, performed by Slovenian Academia philharmonicorum, conducted by one very famous sir Neville Marriner. Not that I know who that is, but apparently he's one of Britain's leading conductors.
Before Holst there was Haydn's 59th symphony and Webern's Im Sommerwind, but I found both not really that impressive. Holst, on the other hand, I like mucho. Bathory's Hammerheart f.e. is acually a tune from Holst' Jupiter. And his Mars is all over metal. And so on. The performance was really great, plus we had good seats with very good sound. I wants more.

I'm going to Ljubljana première of Iron Sky (a parody about Nazis), which includes a Laibach gig. Laibach (often misunderstood for Nazis as well) wrote the music for this flick. The gig takes place on April 20th. Hitler's birthday. Of course.
I can already see people flaming it, not getting the joke behind the whole thing.

Excellent movie. You won't be disappointed, unless you're expecting some extremely high brow social commentary, the movie isn't exactly that. But it's funny as hell in some parts and worth a chuckle in others.
