yea there is a little too much waaaa.i'm pretty tired of the skinny broad being unable to make up her mind about anything.
the reasoning behind what's in the barn was unexpected and a decent twist though.

I am re-watching Deadwood. I only managed to watch 1st season when it was on TV, now I'll go see the rest as well.

Coming to think of it, most TV shows I've watched over the last 6 or 7 years are HBO. All that are longer than half an hour, actually. So, kudos to them.

Has anyone seen Metal Evolution? Done by Sam Dunn, the same guy that did Headbanger's Journey, Global Metal and Iron Maiden & Rush documentaries? It's a series of 11 episodes, covering the evolution of metal or something like that. Episodes are pre-metal, early metal in UK and US, NWBHM, glam, thrash, grunge, nu, shock rock, power & prog.

Surely some strange decisions up there about what's included and what left out, but generally I find it very well made and quite informative, especially when he touched topics I'm not that familiar with - like nu metal and early US metal. ;) When he's talking about power metal, he goes to Slovenia (MC) and proclaims Metal Camp a power metal festival :D Some might argue A LOT about that, but I can forgive him :D

i watched all of it-i like sam dunn a lot but since vh1 classic has morphed into the old guy metal channel here in the US i think he was under some pressure to present bands with more of a US appeal, and ease of legal download so as to make some cash off i tunes.Note the prog metal episode which featured Tool and a few other bands i don't consider to be very proggy, and note the exemption of Opeth and Enslaved-whose shirts he wore during the episode!A not so subtle hint at how he's really feeling.
all things considered it was a pretty good series, although it left out swedish and technical death, folk and especially norwegian BM-a genre i KNOW he loves. It must be infuriating having the bean counters with back catalogues to push leaning over your shoulder.
VHI did the same thing with their 7 ages of rock-in every age the bands they chose to focus on all had extensive back catalogues on CBS and Warner Bros-and bands that were indie or on other labels got blown off,or barely mentioned.

The Viking Sagas (http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0110gnv) is to be aired on Viasat Explorer soon. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Edit: On Viasat History of course.

Finished the first and the second season of The Walking Dead recently. My girlfriend is fond of it, but I find it very crappy. Long, boring dialogs and boring characters and the zombies are rather ridiculous than scary. I feel the lack of creativity and imagination in the whole thing.
Now we're watching Game of Thrones and it's pretty good. Are all HBO TV shows this good? This is the first one I see. It's a very well-made series with very good actors. Sean Bean is one of my favourites. I haven't read the book yet, but I know a few people who have and they say I should read it.
One of my teachers always said that there was a genre of movies called sword-fighting-fucking movie and everybody loved that genre. Well, I've never seen any sword-fighting-fucking movies, I've only seen sword-fighting movies and fucking movies. Game of Thrones has a little sword-fighting and a bit more fucking, so I guess this is what my teacher was talking about and I love it indeed.

I'm watching The Supersizers Go... It's a BBC TV series about the history of British cuisine. Comedian Sue Perkins and restaurant critic Giles Coren spend a week experiencing the food and lifestyles of different periods like Elizabethan era, World War II, 1970s and such. It's pretty amusing.
And has anyone seen Root into Europe? One of our TV channels aired it about 20 years ago. I can't believe it that they haven't aired it again yet. That's a really good TV show.
