I saw Shutter Island recently and it's just brilliant. Another awesome Scorsese movie.
And I saw The Broken as well. The atmosphere of the movie is good, but the story... It's really stupid.

I gave Shutter Island a chance, but I figured out the plot/ending about 15 minutes into it and the rest was just waiting to see how DiCaprio played a crazy person.

Recently watched the original Robocop again. That movie is fucking quality and violent considering how young I was when I first saw it.

Best line from the movie: "Bitches, LEAVE!" (would have been better if Robocop said it though)

'A History of Violence' - Damn good flick.
'The Road' - dark, and sad as hell but good.
-------------I guess it was a 'watch Viggo movies that you haven't seen' trend. Is it bad that every time I hear his name that gay dood in Ghostbusters 2 shouts in my head, 'HE IS VIGGO!?!'

'Contagion' - repeated story about an outbreak but probably the best/most true to life analysis of what would or could happen, especially with the media thing and Jude Law.

I saw The Debt. It's not bad. Some parts of the movie were filmed in Budapest: the scenes set in East Berlin (1966) and Kiev (1997). It was nice to see our cultic trams called Ganz UV (or Stuka). And the Tatra trams which were produced in the 1980s, but thanks to their unique desing they look as old as the UVs and nobody can tell that those things didn't exist in 1966. Our trains also appear in the movie.
Also watched Ingmar Bergman's Winter Light. I enjoyed it a lot. It's a slow and depressing one, not everybody likes this kind of movies. I suggested to my girlfriend watching The Seventh Seal as well as I haven't seen it for a long time, but she said "No! Next year. One Ingmar Bergman movie in a year is enough!".

Both excellent movies. And now go and watch "Eastern Promises" if you haven't already.

I have. We watched a scene from it in my Russian Politics class, the part when the guy is asking Viggo about his tats and what they mean. I thought, Russian mob flick = must watch. It was a kick ass movie. Yet another of those movies that was great but didn't do much in the theaters.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Directed by David Fincher 2011. Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara, Stellan Skarsgård and Christopher Plummer. Got this the other day I have heard so much about the books and the films, would have rather had the original version of this but was keen to see it. I have not yet read the book so my comments are on the film alone, first impressions I do like it. I like the cold steally look the film has and the performances from all the actors are very good, what I also liked that it was largely shot on location in Sweden which I think makes the story telling more authentic. What also drew me to this was an interview that I heard on the radio a little while ago with Eva Gabrielsson who if I remember correctly has written a book about her life with Stieg Larsson, I will get the Swedish version at some stage and the book too a very dark tale it is. :)

I saw Let the Right One In. It's a very good vampire movie. Not as creepy, but it has interesting and a few definitely comic characters. It's awesome.
And Oldboy. That movie is totally insane.

Dark Shadows. In the cinema. Loved it (I've been disappointed by some latest Burton movies, but this one rocks). It's corny and cheesy and all that and the ending is too quickly and simply done for my taste, but still - very funny and OMG, Alice Cooper's in it <3

Recently watched "Sucker Punch" and "Gamer". Not too fond of either one of them, even though it was funny to see King Leonidas run around beardless, clothed and with a gun instead of spear, shield and sword. ;)
