Actually,due to a big bunch of hippie assholes who have been leaving the area of the Externsteine full of garbage after Walpurgisnacht, that area and other important places have been well-protected over the last few years. But well, why not ask. As long as they don't sniff any trace of roman blood in you, the worst they'll do is say no.

If that is possible. They mention in the article about marrying the disciplines. I am a historian but archeology is great stuff. Hell, I have been an Indiana Jones fan forever.
