Start a new thread and post them there would be best I think. I'm working on getting the original lyrics on wikipedia. But we actually need Finntrolls permission to post the original lyrics there. How about that guys? Is that something you'd be ok with?

Yes. Lyrics are very important. In all music, (which is why I have a hard time with a lot of mainstream)

When lyrics are in another language I find it exotic and mysterious, which is nice. I only speak english, too, but I've read some of the Finntroll lyrics online and I like the 'troll-ishness' of the meanings.

Just wondering, from reading the sleeve notes to Ur Jordens Djup Katla mentions "Combining my own stories with some historical and mythical ones" is this the case for all of Finntroll albums or do some of the lyrics take set themes from mythical and historic referances Like for example concepts for lyrics set on any particular sagas, or is it a mixture for lyrical ideas?

I didn't feel like creating a new topic for this, anyway, didn't find the lyrics to the "hidden track" on Ur Jordens Djup, also known as "The Greatest Finntroll Song", so I wrote down what I could make out. Here's the first draft:

Men inget djur i skogen eller kärr och grotta djup, visste vem som hade vält skogstrollets sup.

Men inget djur i skogen eller kära himlens barn, visste vem som hade stampat hela fältet bart.

Trollet satt på sten och ropade HEJ! Bröd och fläsk till de vise!
Men inget djur is skogen utom råttans unga barn, som visste att de var det ända trollet hade kvar.

Och råttorna svamlade till trollet HEJ!

De kristna har spillt ditt mjöd!

Sen blev trollet ilsket och steg upp från sin sten,

Most of it makes sense, but the part that I wrote as "Men inget djur is skogen utom råttor unga par" does not.

There are different lyrics on top of eachother there, so it's a little hard to make out. Also, does that song have a name?

Edit: ahaa perhaps "råttans unga barn" instead. Makes a little more sense.

Found an english translation somewhere recently (I didnt make it so dont yell at me if something sounds weird... )

heh, I translated it myself too. Pretty much the same.
