Translation Jaktens Tid (The Age Of The Hunt)

...The village is quiet, a starry night...
...A fire in the distance can be seen, coming closer...

Forward rides the King of the Trolls
With brother wolf, out for hunting
Everything living flees, friend and foe.
The blood will drown this lonely place

From the darkness of his eternal chamber
He departs, a thirst to quench,
Now they flee on crooked legs
Many lives to take, a hundred legs to break

The Troll Lord's company cutting forth,
Through solemn forest and frozen peaks
They slay all they see and find all that is hidden,
Heads will soon decorate their holy rocks

Everywhere solemn and dark,
Sun rises, no life to be seen
In the Underworld a successful hunt celebrated,
Afterwords again, quiet will reign for centuries...

Wretched human, you trespass here!
Soon the trolls will drag you to the stones.

I think this song was missing in Jaktens Tid album from Ärväthyyll second post...This translation i found on www.darklyrics.com

Added, blagodaram (?) :)
One beer to rule them all.
One whiskey to find them.
One vodka to bring them all
and in the drunkness bind them!

More like

...The countryside lies quiet, a starry night...
...A fire distantly beheld, for they are closing...

I think the translator dropped all the poetic style on the way to English. You chumps are missing out.
Jag saknar sommaren om vintern, och vår när det är höst
Jag klagar över värmen, gnäller högt i regn och rusk ^_^
Men över allt i världen, så vill jag stanna här

Just that one word. Comes handy in many languages :D

It's alright, except for the last parts. It should be something like

Woe to you, human, you trespass here! (this line is inspired from the bible in Swedish, so it should be biblical in English as well)

Also, there is inconsistency with "holy rocks" which later is referred to as just "stones" at the end, even though it's the same word in Swedish. "Häll" is a flat rock, such as this: http://www.freerideoklahoma.com/photos/ ... ckSlab.jpg , so rock slab would be correct, but it doesn't sound very good. Rock slabs, plentiful due to the ice age, are quite important in Scandinavian mythology, what with all the rock slab carvings. I think there might have been sacrifices at such places as well, but I'm not sure.

So Finntroll is basically referring to carrying the humans to slab rocks, these cutting boards of nature.

With the new album hype, I have a question ... This is the closure of Galgasång, can someone please translate it (I really like how it sounds):

Nu sjunga jag min Galgasång
i myllan här runt gravars gång

I understand the first verse is probably Now I sing my Galga-song?

The second question: what is Galga-song? Is it like swan song? I only know Galga in the meaning of Valdr Galga (and google does't help ATM).

Uhm, galga means "gallows" or "fork".
Can someone report the entire lyrics of Nifelvid?

I now sing my gallow song
in the soil here 'round path of graves

Something like that. "Galgasång" is a typical goofy Finntroll word combination. I can't put it in context, though. If someone would type up the lyrics and send them to me I could translate them during my next night shift.

(My crappy translation so it may sound a bit weird, but I wanted to try :D)
Solsagan/ The Saga of the Sun:

She stood with feet in hall so dark
Painted, chalked and cold
She drew a line
with advancing arms
Over the border of the sky
Down to the hottest depth

She stood in ice's bluest wideness
Painted, chalked and cold
She carved her signs, her rune
with advancing arms
Around the waters flows a ring
Then the seabeasts and steam step

She lifted up over the sky and ground
Painted, chalked and warm
Then from rocks' depths stepped a flame
A flamestorm from her hip

She lifted up over the sky and ground
Painted, chalked and warm
Then from rocks' depths stepped a flame
A flamestorm from her hip
She became a shine of flames might
Alone in the throne of space
In all its glory

She carved her signs, her rune
with advancing arms
Around the waters flows a ring
Then the seabeasts and steam step

Ugh, don't hit me too hard :D
Ja maine Kivisen
alasti antaa
selkäsaunaa

-Moonsorrow - Kylän Päässä-
