I've been playing keyboards in a new band for the past few weeks, it's really awesome. I played piano when I was pretty young, and started getting back into keys a few years ago, but this is my first attempt to really take it seriously. Before I would just fiddle around to get some ideas then program the MIDI files to play my music for me... good stuff, there.

I'm surprising myself though. I thought it would take much longer to get used to things like key changes, playing with both hands, and so on, which I struggled with hugely before. Guitar is so much different. I'm learning quickly though :D

Been working on some old stuff and revamping it, for this DVD im putting together of some songs with a short film. However ive added bits and extended the riffs, and playing the songs slightly differently to how I did them originally, so I think these songs are evolving as I go along and I hope it will improve them :?

Okay, had the first lesson now which went pretty well IMO. Basic gripping, posture, movement and so on, had some bouts with notes as well. I've never actually tried learning notes while playing guitar, so that's a bit of a bump in the road. He said the violin was a bit roughened up and should probably be repaired, but it's good enough to be playing on for now.

Oh, and apparently he also taught my aunt to play violin way back when. Small world.

Have written some new lyrics this week, extracted them from a short story ive been working on. All folkloric stuff, sifted through my music and stumbled across a piece id written about three years ago for another song that I didnt use. Played it through with words ive written and it kind of shaping up okay.

Going to follow this and see if it turns into something I can use, recorded a version of it sounds alright. A problem I have when im playing new stuff even though I wrote it myself takes a while getting used to finding the right pitch in playing it properly :?

The good-pick ups are in look pretty good, neck pickup sounds fucking great-exactly what i wanted, boatloads of sustain ,big fat tone.
I put 9's on and am soloing my ass off.Not well, but it's fun anyway. :)

The Bad-Bridge pickup is 10 percent out put of the necks,it's either out of phase, due to different magnetic polarity from differing manufacturers,or i nuked the volume pot when soldering.I'm gonna redo the pot-it's only 7 bucks and if that doesn't work I'll flip the magnet on the gibson/bridge pickup.

Really good-I'm hooked.I like working on the gtr,it's interesting, and lo pressure. If it doesn't work today,I'll fix it tommorrow.I think I'm gona start buying pieces of shit and redoing them for fun.
