Yeah, every Finntroll concert ticket I buy, I buy on EnterTheVault.com. It's a little scary not actually having a physical ticket in your hand when you're on line, but it's totally worth it. I mean, if you don't have a ticket, you can't lose it! :)

Ticketmaster is literally the devil and if you buy from Ticketmaster knowing there are alternatives, congratulations on being part of the problem.

Stickittothemanitis.
Some thoughts on the show.

Swallow the sun-good at what they do,but it does nothing for me.Like Insomnium w/o good song writing. They had the best sound of the night though.
Moonfuckingsorrow-owned everyone in the city this night.I haven't seen them in 4 years-how the hell was that 4 years ago?!?And they were good then but great now.The live edit/rearrangements of the long songs worked well for me,everything was huge epic and full of interesting dynamics and left hand turns.Fucking great.

I have seen Finntroll 3 times before, twice in a small club right upfront, and left both gigs thinking they were the best band on the planet, buzzing from the high of the show all week long. Not tonight. The front of house sound was brutally bad- a ball of mush composed of guitars and snare drum-and i think it was bad on stage also, cause even b dominator seemed to be fighting with instead of playing the songs. Then some of the electric equiptment crapped out for a few minutes. It seemed to me that the band- who fought through the early set mush was affected by it and had an off night-not horrible, just out of sync. The sound out front was shit until 10 songs into the set,V seemed like he wanted to walk offstage most of the set.Maybe it's just my perception, maybe my headspace was still with Moonsorow,i dunno,i've seen them great before,I will see them great again.Everyone is entitled to a bad day at work. ;)

I agree with you, Mats. I still had a fuckton of fun though :D especially during Under Bergets Rot... I grabbed some HUGE blond guy and danced arm-in-arm with him, and I am a very tiny girl, so he lifted me off the ground and flung me into some other guy, haha. Then my friend and I did the fucking Charleston. Only at a Finntroll show can you do the Charleston and get away with it.

Mats, I didn't see you at the concert, what gives?? :P

Alruna, so sorry for ditching you and Samuli but you guys (okay, maybe just Alruna ;)) know why. The night went really well with him, as I've posted before. The venue employees were totally apathetic about the beer, which I found hilarious -- the guy (who is 20) and I went up and sat in the back to drink beers. I stood up to take a picture and this security guard IMMEDIATELY started coming over, so I thought we were fucked because we were sharing beer. The guard said "Don't stand up here," and I said "Okay" and sat down, then he said thanks and left. Awesome

The only other thing I remember was like 1/4 of the crowd going to the bathroom or out for cigarettes when they played Vätteanda :?

we were sitting up behind the sound board above the entrance. My wife had to work Friday, she's 43 and didn't want any part of the pit. :D
She was willing to go down on the floor but I didn't want her to get too worn out.She had fun taking impossible to make anything out camera phone pics. :)
